Randy Albon & Anita Macklin

We are Randy Albon and Anita Macklin—a couple of adventurous souls from Cobourg, Ontario, Canada who like to see new places by bicycle. We consider ourselves among the most fortunate in the world to live where we do. With four changing seasons, we take advantage of warm summer months to cycle roads around Northumberland County and southern Ontario in general, and in the cold of winter we start imagining the warmth and cultural experiences that may exist beyond the familiar.

When we plan a bicycle tour we search the internet for inspiration from others to help choose our next destination. We love to share our own adventures and our website serves a dual purpose of achieving that as well as documenting our experiences for future reference.

When we head out-of-country for a tour we like to be self-sustaining, carrying all of our own gear and plotting our own way, seeing what each day brings. Not being the fancy-hotel type, we do recognize the value of electrical service and a warm shower on our travels.

Our bikes are the foundation of our adventures and are therefore of vital importance. Randy’s favourite is his Kona Sutra and Anita is seeing the world with her Trek 520. Randy tends to be the mapping and route guy, while Anita is the blogging/photographing girl.

Most of our local daily cycling is on-road, and we are active organizers and members of the Northumberland Hills Cycling Club, designed for the pure enjoyment of recreational cycling. There are a number of us who enjoy cycle touring together and some of most rewarding tours have been in Ontario and Quebec with friends that feel more like family (you know who you are!) and those beautiful people make those trips exponentially fun!

Living the Dream,
Randy and Anita
